The List

Category I: Music

/ Artists /

+ DM DOKURO. it is hauntingly amazing how emotions reflect on one's work. their newest works, they know who they are (act I), perfectly demonstrate that. even if it took nearly two whole years of waiting, I believe it was very worth the wait. and you don't know how glad I am that it dropped specifically on this month. their other works, while not nearly as good in my opinion, are still ineffably good. HELL, ALL OF THEIR WORKS ARE AMAZING. just--wow. it is unutterable. y'know what I mean? you don't. anyways, dokuro is incredibly deserving to be on top of this titanic list. go toss 'em some coin.

+ Sewerslvt. god. where do I even begin with this one? everything about this project is perfect. sure, it's surrounded in controversy, but; let's be honest here. the entire world is covered in controversy right now. the music itself, though. it's very special. in a way none can describe. it's just like that one definition of art, "it comforts the disturbed, and disturbs the comforted". those in rough situations find peace within the seemingly endless noise. those in good moments are lost, frightened, confused, disturbed by the chaos. it's perfect. most "doomer dnb" projects i've seen simply can't compare to this. like i've written somewhere, jvne's music makes me feel like i'm worth something. besides that, it makes you want to feel something, but it doesn't tell you what. fucking incredible, makes me feel like shit everytime. go listen to them. i am not asking.

+ Machine Girl. what is there to say, if not "peak" or "incredible"? nothing. words fail to describe the wonderous noise that comes out of this band. if Machine Girl was a food, it would taste like battery acid, and I'd eat it without hesitation. heavily recommended if you like anything hardcore. or if you like neon white, that too. go check them out, you'll probably regret it.

+ Heaven Pierce Her / Hakita. and no, it's not simply because "ultrakill funny robot coin", although it is a part of the reason. hell, i'd say most if not all of his other works are better than the ultrakill ost. Flowerworks is a great example of that, and it PREDATES ULTRAKILL. anyways, Heaven Pierce Her is some good ol' experimental rock/metal, albeit some breakcore is sneaked around here and there. still absolutely wicked, though.

+ Frums. really, it can't get any more experimental than this. also wonderful if you want to snap off someone's fingers on (insert rhythm game here). besides that, Frums is some eletronic goodness with some tracks you've likely heard before, such as Wavetapper. heavily recommend it if you like fucked up time signatures.

+ femtanyl. tl;dr, trauma induced noise. for a longer answer, however: "AAAAA IT TICKLES MY BRAIN SO GOOOOOOD". (taken directly from a supporter on Bandcamp.) femtanyl is extraordinarily difficult to just fit into one singular genre, it is basically creating its own. however, for a short period of time, femtanyl was classified as "hardcore dance" on Spotify, so we'll roll with that. personally, I've yet to give a shit about "dance", but hey. if you like that, give this a go. I'm sure the screaming will stop after some time.

+ Piranesi. it's yet another side project from Hakita, but this one is quite the something. as Hakita himself describes it: ...a music sketchbook filled with all kinds of experiments and oddities. Mostly for atmosphere, ambiance and background listening. (taken from here.) and boy, that's as accurate as it can get. I'd recommend the same as Hakita here, Sweetly in the Early Hours Is the Mist of Morning Dew. quite the name, I know. but also, QUITE THE FUCKING LISTEN, MIND YOU. also, did I mention it's nearly 5 hours long?

+ nu11. master of famitracker. seriously. never have I heard so much effort in a chiptune song. there's more effort in a fucking CHIPTUNE SONG than in most popular songs nowadays. I find it quite ironic. eitherway, even if you don't like chiptune (weirdo), i believe you'll still find joy in this album. it is just that good.

+ Astrophysics. the most post-punk gothcore breakbeat hexd coldwave music you'll ever hear. and believe me, those are real terms. if you know what any of those terms mean, good! it means you should check them out. if you don't, also good! now's a good chance to find out. fun fact, Astrophysics made an entire visual novel for their album, HOPE LEFT ME. the visual novel has the same name. really high quality stuff for you to check out. which you should.
